This is life

Uncle K is a family friend which we had known for a short 6 years. He is just like a normal dotting father and responsible husband who worked real hard just to feed his family of 4. Due to he is the only breadwinner of the family, Uncle K and wife spend very carefully.

Recently, mum told me that Uncle K had fallen ill. He went in and out of the hospital for about 1 month, but still not much of improvement. The doctors are unable to detect what happen and will usually discharge him when they think he is well. However, after he went home for a few days, he will be sent to the hospital again. His health has deteriorate. He is unable to work. His wife were left alone, feeling miserable and lost.

Life is so unpredictable. A person who is normally cheerful will be brought down by illness. No one has ever thought this will happen.

This morning, I have just received a forwarded e-mail from a friend and I think the writer is really wonderful. Below are some of the extract of the quote which I think is quite meaningful. You might also have receive this, but just wanna share.

"Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70s and 80s - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate". A Message by George Carlin:

1) We have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.
2) We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
3) We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

'Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever'.

'Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent'.

'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away'.

Uncle K, hope you will get well soon. Sometimes, life is so unfair :-(

  1. Although I don't know who Uncle K is, but I do hope he gets well soon. I can understand the agony, uncertainty and insecurity feelings most probably felt by the wife since the husband is the only breadwinner of the family.
