Vouchers Vouchers

See how time flies. Today is already the last day of the month, which marks the beginning of a brand new month tomorrow. I cannot remember if I did any meaningful thing in this month of April, but the time are just ticking away. All I can remember was I've been sleeping around 11.30pm almost everynight. Putting my two little ones to bed are a BATTLE! *YAWN* I'm just hopping I could sleep more.

Last night, was a 'voucher' day for us. I had 2 RM10 Starbucks vouchers while SIL got 1 RM20 Kenny Rogers voucher, so we intend to use it on the same night. First, we went to the Starbucks for a drink. SIL ordered the Chocolate Frappuccino which taste not too bad while I ordered their new product of the month Dark Berry Mocha Frappuccino which taste yuccky! Maybe the Berry taste was too strong and when mixed with coffee, the taste was weird. However, SIL said it was ok.

After the drinks, we proceed to the Kenny Rogers which is located just opposite of the Starbucks. We order our usual favourite - Quarter Meal and I order the Caesar Salad which I've seen many people order but have not tried on it at all. Everytime when we dine in Kenny Rogers, we will only order the chicken and will ignore the rest, but that night, I'm really tempted to try.

Hmm....when the meals arrived, I just can't wait to taste the Caesar Salad. Suddenly hubby said
"Wei, see if you daughter shit is it? I can smell something smelly". Ai....I was forced to put down my fork and quickly check on XJ (I was carrying her at that time because forgot to bring the pram). "No la. Where got shit. But then, I can also smell something err....smelly", I replied. Both my SIL also thought the same. Then, all 4 of us suddenly look at that plate of Caesar Salad, give a light sniff and laugh like mad! Gosh! The smell really came from the Caeser Salad. The dressing and the cheese are smelly but the taste - WONDERFUL!

It is sourish, juicy and creamy. The fresh vegies being used are crispy and blended very well with the dressing and cheese - not too sour nor salty. The toasted bread pieces gives you the crunchy feeling while the chicken breast meat are full of pepper smell. Very delicious indeed. I will definately going to order the Caesar Salad again in my next visit.

Between, that was our supper......that was why 4 of us are sharing out.

The Singh jokes

This morning I had a good laugh at a customer's office. Went over to collect cheque. While waiting, one of the staff (there are about 5 staffs) was laughing to herself and then she shouted "Listen everyone, here got some good jokes about Singh". By the way, the company I went was operated by a Singh family and all the 5 staffs in the office are family members. The jokes goes....

Singh who likes to SAIL = Karpal Singh
Singh who likes to DRINK = Yum Sing
Singh who likes to FIGHT = SamSeng
Singh who likes ROUNDABOUT = Pusing
Singh who likes 2 BALLS = BALANCING
Singh who likes to SCOLD people = TIU NIA SING

Hahaha....pardon me for the rude word and for all the SINGH friends who happen to read this, please do not take it to your heart. This is just a jokes to share. Hope you guys enjoy it. I really had a good laugh at this. Some kind of people with this kind of creative brain!

Dinosaur @ MidValley Exhibition Center

Today felt very sleepy. Even slept at around the same time as every other night, but today felt extra tired. Maybe I walked too much yesterday. Ya.....went for a day trip to Mid Valley! The main purpose was to bring YX to see the Dinosaur. He loves it very much and are very excited, but hubby and I felt a little bit too expensive. This is at the ticketing counter. Click on the picture to get a larger view. See.....Adult RM12 nett/pax and child RM8 nett/pax for age 5 and above.

At the side of the entrance. A small dino on display.

This is the very first model we saw. Aik....how come it is not a dinosaur? Well, this exhibition is actually a combination of dinosaur and insects, but dinosaurs are more attractive, therefore, it was emphasis as Dinosaur Exhibitions. And how pahetic....only 10 dinosaurs and 6 insects to see......So, basically the entrance fee we paid is very well divided to about RM1 ++/dino. The insects? see for free lo.
A huge beetle..................
Next.............
Here comes T-Rex........my picture turn out to be a bit dark.

This one.....do not know what is the name....but looks very ugly hor.

Prying Mantis.......

A collection of butterflies.............
Har....you must be wondering why there are only 2 dino pictures instead of 10? Well, those photos I took turned out to be dark, so does not intend to load it here. We only spend about 40 minutes inside the hall. Well, if YX was more co-operative with us for photo taking, we might be out from the hall even earlier. Whenever I wanted to take a snap, YX will run towards me as stangers will start to crowd around him. Aii....people also want to take photos mar. Overall, it is not a very good exhibition because there are not much information about the display. Basically, we only pay to look at the model. But for the child experience, its PRICELESS.
:( .... did not manage to buy the 'Tau Sah Piah' with meat floss because I CAN'T FIND THE SHOP!!!!!

Holidays

Bye bye to my Taiwan plan. Well, just got the news from here that booking actually started today and travelling period is from Jul 2009 - Jan 2010. Its too impromtu. I thought I still have at least 2 months plus to decide but ...... aii......maybe next time.

Mum and dad are also not sure whether to go or not as they had already booked for a trip to Yogjakarta, Indonesia in Jul 2009. See....how nice.....travel and travel..........

But am looking forward for a Public Holiday which falls on 26 October 2009 - Installation of Negeri Sembilan's Yang Di-Pertuan Besar to replace the late one who passed away Dec last year. You might be wondering....ai....what so big deal for a PH. For me, a PH (especially falls on either Saturday or Monday) are very precious as this is the only time hubby and I could go for a short holiday (2D/1N). Ya...working in family business is very difficult to apply for leaves what more have to hear FIL nagging and nagging......very headache.

I still remember hubby got a hard time we went to Bali, Indonesia in early Feb 2005 with my parents, MIL and youngest SIL. Before applying for the leaves, FIL nag and nag. After the trips, he continues to nag and nag. Even telling customers "Ai, nowadays young people very good life. Work for a short period, but plan for a long holidays". :( So, to apply for leaves.......very difficult!

Supper Time

The below pictures are our supper yesterday night. Not very heavy.....a total of 4 of us eating. Sorry for the half eaten food pictures. Heheheh....cannot resist it when it was serve, so after a few bites only remember to take pictures. This pau can only be found in Seremban (as far as I know). It is call 'Wo Pau' - do not know what is the meaning.

Do you know what is the yellow colour thing? It is actually CAKE. The white colour is the pau.

The filling? It is 'char siew' (pork seasons with sweet sauce). The char siew being used are very genuine meaning no fatty pork being added. Some pau with char siew fillings added too much fatty pork and it makes you eat half and spit out half. The taste? Hmm......if you like buttery taste, then this is suitable for you. The cake is not very sweet but fluffy and soft. Eating the 3 ingreadient together is just perfect as the sweetness from the char siew will be absorb by the pau while the cake gave you a full buttery flavour. After eating something light...here comes the main dish...........

Ikan Bakar. I did post on this previously but without photos. So, here is a fully untouched Ikan Bakar. Heheh...everyone allowed me to take the picture before 'attacking' the fish. The green colour is Okra (some called lady's fingers). The 2 type of chilli pastes are being covered by the okra, one sour and one belachan. Hmm....I love both chillies. It is indeed very spicy and the fish (we choosen stringray), were very tender. I ate the belachan chilli paste first, then only ate the sour chilli paste......, then I ate both chillies together. Hmm.......I love both. The belachan is saltier but very fragance with fried shallot taste while the sour one is more appetizing with a tamarind taste.

And this drink is a must......... Teh O Ais Limau (Ice lemon tea). Hmm.....sorry ya....it was half drank only I remember to take a picture of it. 2 'Limau Kasturi' (lime) was added into the thick Teh O (english tea without milk) and loads of ice. Its sour, very flavourful of tea fragance and cold! Yummy......and today I already went to the toilet twice. Hahahha.....due to the chillies again!

Seremban famous Hakka Mee

What food am I going to introduce today? Teng teng teng........ Seremban Hakka Mee.

There is no black thick soy sauce being added into the mee, therefore, it looks very plain. But the taste........wow.....delicious. The noodle texture are very Q and the mince meat are well seasoned. It brings out the salty taste and very nice when munching inside your mouth.

And best to eat with prickles green chilli. The chilli are being seasoned with vineger and sugar, therefore, it brings out the taste of sourness sweet yet crunchy. Not very spicy thou but blended very well with the noodles.

Yummy............

Locked

Here comes the naughty YX again. Almost everyday, he will come up with some new tricks to made us anxious and angry at the same time. I wonder if he really mean it or he is not aware at all of his michevious behaviour. Some said, "He is just a toddler, be easy"....... hai.....

Yesterday, on our way back home after work, MIL called hubby. "Your son is in the toilet. He locked himself inside!"

We got so worried and rushed back ASAP. However, YX does not seems to be afraid. He was enjoying PLAYING WITH WATER instead! We called on him to open the door, teaching him how to unleash the door.....but our effort was not answered. He is enjoying himself with the water inside. We could hear the water flowing sound.

At the end, hubby had to use a long pole to push the leash open via the window. Before that, there were few complicated steps to open up the closed window. Ahh.....finally we managed to release YX. He did not cry at all, and all he does was showing us his 'prune skin' fingers due to soak with water for too long. " You see, my skin old old already".

Warm warm water

YX is really a mischevious child. Sometime, things we thought he will not do / do not know how to do, eventually proof us wrong. He DID it.

MIL gave us a shocking news again. As YX has grown a little bit taller, when he stands on top of a stool, he will be able to reach to the table top (which is quite high). While MIL was at the kitchen for a few seconds, YX managed to grab a thermos containing hot water (lucky it was not boiling water) and pour onto XJ's milk bottle (2nd time lucky again, as he did not pour the warm water onto his sister). He bring the milk bottle to the kitchen and shouted "Ah Ma......你看,有温温水." (Got warm water)

Aiii.......3rd time lucky YX did not scald himself nor scald XJ. Aiiii.....now the thermos was being kept even higher so he could not reach. What a naughty boy.

Happen to browse thru an interesting website. Its a website on photos editing. I really had a fun time exploring and loading my kids' pictures onto the background provided. See the effect below

I like this one. It looks so real.

This is the picture of YX when he was 25 months old.

This one was taken recently. The poster was a huge one.

Hmm....again, this is my favourite. Nice background and the poster is big enough to fit my photo.

Tau Sah Piah

SIL gave me 1 piece of 'Tau Sah Piah' (chinese biscuit with mung bean fillings) for breakfast this morning. Ya...only 1 piece. Actually her friend gave her 2 pieces and she was kind enough to offer me 1. Hehehe.....Very nice.

Sometimes, breakfast is such a headache. Don't know what to eat. So, eating Tau Sah Piah with a cup of hot MILO will do. As long as it does keep me full for a while. I guess by 10.30 am, I will sure go hungry again. Arrggg....lunch time is at 12 noon.....still a long way to go.

Here is the picture of my breakfast. This is not a usual Tau Sah Piah..........

It's mung bean + meat floss. Yummy......It is the salty type. Tau Sah Piah have 2 types of taste - Sweet and Salty. I personally prefer the salty type. With the meat floss added into it, really bring out the fragance. Moreover, both ingredient combined very well. This is the first time I ate such a special one. But where can I buy this?
Hmm...I turn the packaging and read the small wording printed on it : Manufactured in Teluk Intan, Perak. Then, I continue to read again.....Wah! very happy to read: Distributed by XX company @ MIDVALLEY Shopping center. Hurray.......I can made a trip up to Midvalley this coming weekend to buy some back.
Anyway, it has been quite a long time hubby and I did not go up to KL. So, will be planning to go over during this coming precious Sunday!

Taiwan via Air Asia

Heard from a relative who operates a Travel Agency mentioning that Air Asia will be flying to Taiwan starting in September 2009. Hurray! I've been waiting for Air Asia to fly into this destination long ago because flying with Air Asia really save you a lot! This low cost budget airline really live up to their slogan "Now everyone can fly".

Mum and dad are planning to book for a trip to Taiwan. The booking via Air Asia will only start in July 2009. So, this time, I wish to follow them but will have to bring YX along as MIL will not be able to look after 2 kids day and night. If MIL volunteer to look after both and think that she can, then sorry YX, mama will not be bringing you along. hehehehe.....

I've been to Taiwan 5 years ago and really like this country, especially the FOODs. The night markets offer an array of mouth watering foods. Shopping for clothings in Taiwan are also recommended due to the designs.

Well.......I'm still in the mist of planning but 99% wishing to travel to Taiwan with mum & dad. Please, please let my wish comes true......... *Wishing wishing*

First word

I could not remember what was YX's first word as I did not record that down. I don't even remember when he utter his first word. Therefore, I wish to blog this down now, so I can read them in the the future.

Baby XJ finally utter her first word. Its "PAPA". How sad was I at first, because I did more in term of taking care of her, but she did not call me first! But, it really warm your heart when you heard the word came out from her mouth.

During meal time, she will make the sound UHMM on every spoonful of porridge. hehehe....she sound funny!

Wonder when will she call MAMA?

Another disaster?

Well, it is also a headache but not really a big disaster. FIL's office got flooded yesterday! Hai....why all the bad are happening around this month? First, the workshop's roofings, then now the office.

In the morning, hubby got a phone call from the guard (a pakcik who looks after the workshop during after office hours, weekends and holidays).

"Office macam ada air keluar banyak. Cepat datang tengok". The guard said. (office looks like got a lot of water coming out, please come and see, faster).

Since, both FIL and MIL already went out early in the morning for breakfast and marketing, hubby went alone to the office to find out what has happen. Aii....one of the pipe in the toilet burst and causing water flowing non stop. The carpet was wet and water overflow thru the office's door. (This is where pakcik saw the water).

Hubby quickly called FIL to report about this 'disaster'. What a BAD LUCK!

Now, the office stink!

What a bad day

I called mum around 12 noon today just to check if they had arrived or not, and mum said they just arrived. I always felt worry when they were on the road. So, I will estimate their arrival time and call to check. I felt relieved when I heard that they had arrived safely. Then, mum continued....

"papa's car need a good repair".

"Huh! Why? What happen?"

"When papa wants to overtake an overloaded lorry in front of him, there was an on coming car, so he did not manage to step on the break in time. Thus, he bang onto the lorry".

Gosh! That was terrible. I felt scare but later, my mind told me that since they both arrived safely at my brother's house, then it should be ok. Mum assured me that both she and dad are fine. Just that the car needs a repair.

What a bad day. Dad has been a very careful and patient driver, but he can be careless at times. Maybe he is wishing for a new Proton Exora!

Tomorrow........

Mum & dad are coming!! Yea.....very happy because got a chance to catch up with them again. To eat together and chit chat. We have a lot of things to talk about and we can talk about everything and anything together. Isn't it amazing? Mum & dad....see ya.....hope you two have a slow and safe journey to Seremban. *kiss kiss*

When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall.......

Rock a bye baby on the tree top,

When the wind blows the cradle will rock,

When the bough breaks the cradle will fall,

And down will come baby, cradle and all.

Still remember the above nursery rhymes? I accompany my son to sing this song almost everyday. He will never get bored with his nursery rhymes and can play the disc again and again.

Yesterday, MIL gave me a very shocking news. She puts baby XJ to sleep in the cradle and proceed to bathe YX. After the bathe, she helps to dress up YX and before she could hang the towel onto the towel rack (which is a few steps away), she heard *PONG* The whole cradle toppled down with baby XJ still sleeping inside and naughty YX being 'pressed' by the cradle's frame. Both started to cry loudly.

MIL rushed to save both of them and luckly nothing serious happen. YX just had some bruises on his left ankle while XJ is ok.

So what mades the cradle to fall? Sigh! Its that naughty YX. He climb like a monkey and this has caused the cradle to unbalance and thus, fell! Oh yes, next to the cradle are a set of sofa which actually supported the cradle when it fell and XJ excape of being drop on the floor. Otherwise, the consequences will be serious! Thanks god!

What should I do with this naughty YX?

Roti Sardine

I used to order Roti Sardine when I was young. Due to the creativity of the seller, my taste changed to other type of Roti. During college time, my usual order will be Roti Tisu, Roti Pisang or Roti Planta. And must be accompanied by a glass of hot Teh Tarik.

Today, I challanged myself to eat Roti Sardine again, after so many years of not eating it. I guess it is around 8 - 9 years already. Opps.......you can guess my age.

Wow....the taste was YUMMY. I never thought that I will still like Roti Sardine. You know, sometimes our taste might shift according to our age. But, the taste of Roti Sardine still remains after so many years. Onion and cilli was added into the sardine and it was a PERFECT combinations! Dipping into the curry gravy enhanced the taste better and due to the hot weather today, I choose to drink Teh O ice Limau (Ice lemon tea).
* burp* ... wow....so satisfying!

Rice + Soup = ???

Do you like to eat rice mixed with a bowl full of soup together? For me, No. It taste yuckky! Just had that yesterday dinner. Not that I wanted to, but I have to. I used to feed YX with rice + soup so it will not be too dry for a toddler to eat. He does not like gravy, therefore, soup is the best alternatives. Normally, he will finished the whole bowl, but yesterday, maybe he does not have the 'mood' to eat, therefore, he did not eat it. In order not to waste food, I ate it instead.

I really don't like the taste. It does not taste like porridge, nor taste like rice. It taste funny. At the end, I scoop up all the rice and put it in another bowl. Yea......that taste more like rice.

What's for breakfast

Just had a slice of cake for breakfast - L'Opera from Baker's Cottage. Yummy yummy.....I love this cake especially the pastry crump spread on the top.

Yesterday, they had a promotion, buy 2 slices of cake at RM5.90 where they normally sells at RM4.90 per slice. It's not an expired one ok! So, I grab two without hesitating due to the irresistible price and the irresistible look of the cake.

A few years back, my in - laws bought this cake to celebrate hubby's late grandma's Birthday, and I fell in love with the cake from that day on. Grandma passed away in 2005, 5 months before our wedding. Glad that she managed to attend our registration day a year before our wedding took place.

Cakes and pastries are my favourite. I will try not to think of the calories, I just eat and eat. Yummy yummy!

FiReWoRks

I had a beautiful dream yesterday. It was actually the first time I dreamt about it and can still remember clearly until now (2.35pm). I dreamt of FIREWORKS.

I do not know what occasion was that, but a lot of my relatives (local and outstations) all gather in a house (I also have no idea whose house was that). Then, one of my cousin together with my dad, hubby and I were standing outside of the house preparing to do something (do not know what thing). Suddenly, out of nowhere, my cousin got this box of firework and getting ready to lit it. I quickly rushed into the house to grab my digital camera. I lie down on top of a bed of soft greenish grass and managed to capture the spectacular view of fireworks burst into a rain of light. So beautiful ! I can even remember that I saw purple, green, blue, white and yellow colour fireworks. Yes, my dreams have colours.

According to this website, ** watching fireworks burst into a rain of light in the sky is an omen of great good fortune ahead, particularly in romance **. Hahaha....romance with hubby...? Hmm...maybe we are going to have something special like a romantic dinner, a romantic holiday or a romantic Sunday?

Just day dreaming......

I love to day dreams. Be it during bathe time, while driving or waiting in a queue. I day dream of almost everything that appeared in the movie, from good to bad. Sometimes I wonder if the day dreams becomes reality, how will I handle them. Will I be contented or will I be afraid to face it. Well, it is just a day dream.........

THE GOOD

1) A tyoon's daughter, with bodyguard protecting me, a chauffeur driving me around in those luxury car and a personal maid serving me.

2) A celebrity. Have supporters and receive honoured invitations to attend the Awards ceremony and of course wining some awards too!

3) Own a cake shop in a medium type of shoplot selling my favourite pastries and cakes. Design my own products and creating my own receipes

4) A journalist especially those focus on the entertainment industries and can interview my favourite artises, have a meal with them and befriend with them.

5) A SAHM (stayed at home mum), taking care of my own kids, decorate the house, cook, BUT must have a maid to do the household chores.

6) As a food and travel presenter. So I could travel around the world and try out new foods and can appear in the TV!

THE BAD
*** I'm not telling you ***

So, do I want my day dreams to become a reality? No..., I just love my life now and I will continue to day dreamssssss.

Mouth Ulcer

I do not know if it is due to heatiness or not. But according to old people, it is. I BIT MY OWN MOUTH! ! ! !

I was taking my dinner the other day and munch..... munch....... munch....suddenly, Ouch !! It really hurts. I thought it was just a small bite, but never did I realised it has now turned into an ulcer. Whenever I brush my teeth, it HURTS. Whenever I ate something salty, it HURTS. Whenever I gave a broad smile, it HURTS. Aii.....how long do I need to tolerate this? Please...please....let me recover faster. I'm feeling so uncomfortable.

Crazy hubby ask me to put salt onto the ulcer before I go to bed. He guarantee I will recover the next morning when I wake up. NOOOOoooooooooooo.....I will and can never do that! I'm scare....

Saving Bond - Islamic Banking

Nowadays FD interests are extremely low. I still remember when I first open my very 1st FD account back in 2003, the Interest rate was somewhere between 3 - 3.7 % / annum. There is even 1 time where I managed to open an account with 3.88% / annum. However, now the rate is only a pathetic 2.5% / annum with terms & conditions applies.

Recently, I've got a piece of good news. The government are going to introduce the Saving Bond where they will be paying us at 5% / annum. Wow! good bargain. Read the news HERE. So, I'm going to close my FD account and sign up for the Saving Bond. However, it is only upon approval and hope mine will be selected.

My smelly hanky

* In the bedroom, trying to put XJ to sleep. *

Me: Hmm Hmm (huming Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while tapping XJ's little butt)

XJ: cry cry cry.......cry cry cry ......

Me: Oiii....don't cry don't cry...sayang.... *continue to pat her little butt*

XJ: cry cry cry......cry cry cry......

Me: Aiyo....don't cry la....go and sleep. If you did not sleep, mama also cannot sleep.... *YAWN*

XJ: cry cry cry.....

Finally, I realised why XJ was crying where normally, she will just roll on the bed and sleep on her own. I forgot to give her the smelly hanky! Ya....she loves to hold the hanky in her little hand and she will sleep without much trouble.

*Sniff sniff*... XJ dose off with the hanky still in her hand. *I wash her hanky everyday ok*

Reflections?

Yesterday was helping YX to brush his teeth. We did this every night in order to made it a good habit. *Brush....Brush....Brush* Suddenly, YX look straight at me (I squad down so can be at the same height as him). He looked so serious and moved his head towards mine. I was thinking, oh no! is my face dirty? Then YX said " Emmm.......got YX inside" (pointing at my eye). Hahahaha.... he saw the reflection of himself. How silly.

Maid

How I wish I have a maid to help me clean my room, wash the toilet, wash the dishes, iron my cloths and clean whatever I'm too lazy to do. I don't like domestic household chores. Its too tiring. They made me sweat and dirty. They took away all my precious time. Maid, if only I can hire one. But will maid give me headaches too?

3G

I've been using the wireless broadband for almost a year now (turning 1 in July), and only today, I've realised that it can be loaded faster than I've thought. Every time, I only click to connect but never change the status in the settings panel. However, today the line just got disconnected and am unable to connect back to the Internet. This left me with some ample time to browse the setting panel, and there I found an option to 'change the connection type'. As my area have 3G coverage, I'm able to connect via the 3G. Wow! The line was super fast if compare to the previous settings. How silly am I.

3G defination from Wikipedia :

3G is the third generation of telecommunication hardware standards and general technology for mobile networking. Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony, video calls, and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment. 3G networks are wide-area cellular telephone networks that evolved to incorporate high-speed Internet access and video telephony.

Oh yes...its me

Yesterday I went to the government office in Putrajaya. I have to go there almost once a month to settle some company's stuffs. As there are only 5 counters operating, I've actually recognised all of their faces. Being there every month, I can remember them. But I was rather suprised that a malay lady at the counter actually remember me! We never talk much except for some explanation when submitting the form. All business talk. Then she suddenly asked " You sudah bersalin ke?" (You have delivered ?)

Yes, my baby girl is going to be 7 months soon. That's me.

Ikan Bakar @ BBQ Fish

Had Ikan Bakar yesterday night for supper. Ya, just the fish and a glass of cold ice lemon tea. This stall is situated near our house. They does not offer much variety, only fish and lala (clam) but the chilli used was indeed perfect! We had String Ray which I think is the best fish to be use for Ikan Bakar. The special taste about this Ikan Bakar is they use two types of chilli, one which is a bit sour and another one is the belachan type. Hubby prefer the belachan taste which I think both types of chilli taste delicious to me. However, today I went to the toilet twice. Not food poisoning but the chillis are 'cleaning' my stomach......wow....such a wonderful feelings. I know it sounded GROSS, but my stomach are very much lighter now! hahaha

Growing up again

The feelings of being a mum are great. As a mother to a two and a half year old toddler and a going-to-be seven months baby, I can join them in their world to grow up all over again. The things we did together reminds me of my childhood times. I could .......

1) baby talk
2) Listening to nursery rhymes and sing together
3) read children's story books
4) stack up Lego sets together to built whatever I can
5) fold paper aeroplane
6) rushing to the clown in a shopping complex just to get a balloon
7) feeding tortoises and fishes
8) drawing
9) going to the playground

However, being a mum, things I CAN'T DO when the kids are around......

1) going to a movie
2) shopping hassle-free
3) wake up late on Sunday and holidays
4) going to a buffet
5) going for a facial treatment at the beauty center

bla bla bla.....continue continue......so many things I can't do but being a mum is still the best!

Lucky to be alive

In my previous post, I did wrote about the stormwind disaster which destroyed part of FIL's workshop roofs. Well, FIL assigned a contracter specialized in roofing works to do the necessary 'renovations'. All the workers are foreigner with only 2 local chinese men being their supervisor instructing them at work.

As the roofs were totally wreck, they will have to remove the zinc pieces by pieces with their bare hands. You can imagine that few foreign workers, about 4-5 of them will have to climb to the roof tops while another 3-4 of them waiting at the bottom to receive the zinc. The only tool they use is rope. Not to tide themselve for safety but to tide the zinc so that they can control the movement from top to the bottom. After about 9 hours (as they start work at 8am and finishes at 5pm), all the zinc were sucessfully removed.

The next day, they continue to work. This time, they will have to remove the 'frame' (steels which form the sides and middle of the roofs in order to place the zinc on top of it). I do not know what it is call, so I name it 'frame'. Again, the only tool they use is rope. The steels are so heavy where I could see the workers are always balancing themselves, just like standing on the beam in the gymnastic.

So there was I standing near the office glass door looking at them and suddenly to my horror, one of the worker fell to the ground. It is about 2 stories high. That reminds me of a sucide case in the apartment which I stayed in KL a few years ago. By the time I came back from work, I saw a few policemen around with lots of 'concern citizens' surrounding the area. Only reaching home, my landlord told me he saw the man jumping down. So I can actually imagine the whole scenario. So scary. Yeeww!

Now, back to the worker who fell, heard from his co-worker, his leg was broken and required an operations. Hope he is recoupling well and he is actually lucky to be ALIVE!

And to add to this story, after the fall, the boss finally uses a crane to remove the 'frame' instead of using only human's strength. If only the crane was used ealier.......

Xi Tao Poh (Lady boss) ?

I felt disgusted when customers who are not so familiar with our organization addressed her as 'xi tao poh' (meaning Lady Boss) and she goes HHMMM (acknowledge). Yucks!

Why is she so thick skin? How can she felt so comfortable when someone addressed her wrongly? Is it because too many poeple used to address her like that until she is too lazy to explain the situation again and again?

There is one time when she was on leave and a customer asked me "Where is xi tao poh?" And I said, 'xi tao poh' is at home (referring to my MIL), do you mean the CLERK? She is on leave today". Hahaha....and the customer when :O uuhh...she is a clerk ar. I though otherwise. I felt so happy after declaring her status correctly.

And now I wonder, how come people can just simply ASSUME her status without clarify first?

The happy moments

Last Sunday, we went to the karaoke @ Green Box with my SILs. It was not a planned activity but we somehow ended up there enjoying ourselves singing for about 3 hours. This is the first time YX followed us to the karaoke and am glad that he enjoyed very much. The karaoke provided nursery rhymes too and YX sang a few namely :

1) Happy Birthday
2) Fingers song
3) Doll of clay

The nursery rhymes MTV was actually shot by TWINS (the popular Hong Kong girl group which was now splited due to one of the member was invovled in a sex scandal photos). With their cute smile and petite size, I think they are very suitable to shot this kind of MTV. Remember the above nursery rhymes? Well, I learned them while I accompany my kids watching them.

XJ also enjoying herself listening to the songs but she slept after about an hour we were there. Even with the loud speakers, she still managed to sleep in my arm. How comfortable.
Well, the below photo is not related to the karaoke sessions. But it suits this post title. It is really a happy moments seeing them growing up so fast day by day.

Now, XJ can sit on the 'walker'. She loves it as she have all the freedom to move around. Just that at times, that naughty YX will push the 'walker', so we have to be extremely careful. This 'walker' was once used by YX. Its a present given to us by some friends when YX was born. Being the youngest will always have to use the 2nd hand things. Even the pyjamas XJ was wearing in the above photo belongs to YX when he was still a baby. XJ, don't worry, you will have a lot of brand new dress!

Disaster

These few days, the weather over here is a bit crazy. It gets really hot in the morning and suddenly, the sky turned dark in the afternoon (normally around 2 pm) with thunder and heavy rain. How I hope I'm at home so can get some sleep. It is really nice to sleep during raining season.

Two days ago, due to such weather, a disaster strucked FIL's workshop. Around 4.30 pm, the rain gets heavier with thunderstrom. Our office electricity were cut off and we were sitting in the dark. As not much of work that day, we were all sitting in the office just waiting for the clock to struck 5 pm, waiting to go home. Ya lar, even working in own family business also have to wait until 5 pm only can go home. Have to follow rules.

So, 5 pm came and as we were about to leave the office, we were shocked to see the roofs on the workshop has fallen. (Well, the workshop is another seperate building from our office). FIL went :( Four letter words came out from his mouth cursing and cursing. What a bad day.
