KL Bird Park - We Will Be Back !

YX has been requesting to visit the ZOO. We thought why not bring him to the KL Bird Park instead as we have not been there before. Since the 14 Jan 2010 was a PH for Negeri Sembilan state, we took that opportunity to visit the Bird Park on that day. And so happen both my parents are in town, so they tagged along. We had great FUN !

The park was so beautifully landscape with lots of big tress that provided shades. Mum was so worry that she will get burnt and wanted to bring along the umbrella. All of us protested as it will only be an extra thing to carry, and glad that we were not wrong. She found her shades all along the park !
We came across this aunty from China who was selling some wall paintings and chinese calligraphy (written in the form of fishes and birds). They look really nice. Hubby and I decided to have both YX & XJ's Chinese name to be written on the bamboo sheets but the uncle (who was the artist) said it won't turn out nice because their chinese name have too many strokes. If their name are to be written in simple and short English wording (eg, John, Peter, Jane, etc), it will come out nice. Alas, both of them do not have any English name, so we drop the idea. Each name painted on the bamboo sheets (RM20) and plain paper (RM10).
Nice photo shots area. The birds are REAL but they are so obedient standing so quietly on their own place without even moving an inch, especially the owl. They will charge an amount for photo shots, either by their professionals or by using your own camera. Sorry, forgotten the price. We did not utilise this facilities thou.

Friendly birds greeting us for a photo shot. Chargable at RM10 per shots. Initially wanted to get YX to have his photo taken, but that silly boy was so afraid of the birds and refused. Baby XJ was afraid of the birdie too.

PROUD peacocks spreading his beautiful majestic colorful fan of tail when we walked past. There were lots of peacocks and peahens walking freely around and they are certainly not afraid of people.

The flamingoes - YX's favourite. He was curious of why the flamingoes standing with only 1 leg with their head hidding under their wings. We do not really know the answer and just say "They were sleeping". Right?
There are also 'world of parrots' whereby you can buy RM1 of melon seeds (selling there) and feed the lorries. They were so beautiful and if your hands are holding their food, they will rest on your shoulder, arm and even head! And again, YX was so afraid of the over friendly birds and drag me outside, shouting and crying like the birds are going to tear him into pieces.
Overall, the bird park is a great family outing. It is clean, shady, very well kept and they charge very reasonable price. If you flash your Mykad - RM15 (Adult) , RM6 (Child). If you have Jusco Member Card, only 1 adult are entitle to RM10. We had 2 Jusco cards and 2 of us paid RM10 each.
We will sure visit this park again in the near future. A calming and peaceful place for 'washing' away all the PRESSURES !
