CNY 2010

What a LONG LONG break I had for this CNY celebrations. Everyday was like party and we were all stuffed with heavy and sinful foods. And I definately enjoying my long holidays *grin*.

Before CNY
On the eve of CNY, we had a simple spring cleaning. Simple because the 'grand' one was already done during DEC '09 when we shifted in. This year, we even have the time to go for last minute shopping. What a honeymoon feeling. At around 11 PM, we started our mini BBQ party. As the chinese believe that if the children sleep late on the eve day of CNY, this will bring longevity to the parents. Haha... but of course that's NOT the reason we had the BBQ so late at night. We are not that 'pantang'. It was because we waited for hubby to come back from a movie with one of his friend. We had the BBQ till 3 am and I woke up the next day with swollen gum (too heaty).

1st day CNY
As a tradition, and FIL being the eldest invited all his siblings + family for a buffet dinner at our home. Since he wanted to be 'special', MIL and us have to prepare a warm and sumptuous homecook meal. Of course MIL being the chef and us, being the kitchen helper. This buffet dinner preparation took us almost the whole day (from morning till evening) and we were all dead tired!

2nd & 3rd day CNY
We travelled back to my parents' home @ Johor. Got to meet up with many relatives which we only meet up once / twice a year. Back home, it was eating, eating and eating. Mum cooked so much mouth watering dishes and our stomach are never empty. On the 3rd day of CNY, we had a 8 course dinner at a local restaurant for 'lo sang'. After dinner, we went visiting again and continue to munch on the CNY cookies. With my swollen gum, I still managed to munch those cookies. ^_^

4th day CNY
We went back to Seremban after lunch and MIL prepared a steamboat buffet dinner at home. Wow...foods again!!!

5th & 6th day CNY
We went to Sunway Pyramid for window shopping. We spend almost the entire day at Sunway before went to SIL's house @ Puchong to stay for 1 night. The next morning, after breakfast we went to Puchong IOI mall for another round of window shopping before heading back to Seremban. At night, we had another round of buffet dinner at FIL's friend's house.

7th & 8th day CNY
We stayed at home whole day. On the 8th day CNY, we had another round of mini BBQ while waiting for midnight to 'pai ti gong' (praying to the Emperor god) for all the Hokkien. Slept around 1 am and was so lazy to get up for work the next day.

Finally, we started work on the 9th day of CNY and had another round of praying at the workshop. Heavy foods again. Chicken, roast pork, prawns, etc.

* My swollen gum has healed but I've got 2 ulcers in my mouth now *

* Sorry no photos. My camera was also on CNY leaves * ^_^

  11. Wah, yes, it's really a 'party-ing' week for you! About your mouth ulcer, wishing you a speedy recovery! As for me, I had stomach indigestion during CNY, then later purged for 5 days (till Day 9), so couldn't eat as much food as I had wanted originally. Stomach too much gas already. BUt have recovered on Day 10.
