All about the eye (Part 2)

You may read Part 1 here.
.
Last Friday (19 Mar), I brought YX to see the eye doctor again (followed the appointment given). I was worried because the foreign thing is still visible on his lower eye lid, but YX never complaint of itchess or pain.
.
The doctor gave me 1 good and 1 bad news.
.
The GOOD - His eye is completely allright now. It is very clean inside as there are no more puss
The BAD - What you see now is a PERMANENT SCARE. It might be his skin is not so good, which cause the scare to be there, just like some people received BCG injections and will have a scare on their arm for life.
.
Gosh ! My boy's eye is not completely allright like what the doc. said. I don't think this is nice. However, the doc assured me that when he grow up bigger, the skin will stretch and the scare might not be so visible like now. What ever it is, I just have to accept it.
.
Maybe applying Vit E oil will help? I don't know.

  1. oh since it is scar, then alright. tel u, my husband when he was a small kid, his eye got infection, and then went blind! he only use one eye for vision. so very lucky ur son's case. it is just a scar...but eye part is very fragile, better don put any oil or scar cream. just like wat ur doc say, let him grow n let the skin heal by itsel, anyway he is still young, his skin metabolism should be high..

  3. Better don't apply any cream now, observe for some time first, just let it be if it doesn't affect the vision. Good luck to YX.

  4. The black thread around my middle finger opposite to the red eye.. method usually worked for me. Since doc confirmed that it's a scar, shouldn't worry too much. Eye is a very sensitive area, it's better to consult specialist before applying any cream, ok? :)

  5. Ohh... looks like a hordeolum(sty) to me, last year I got my eyelid infected just like YX... but after applying CMC ointment and drops it healed in no time(without any scarring though)!

  6. Well, I don't think it's a good idea to apply anything on the eye. If possible it should be clean and dry otherwise things like chalazion might be appearing.. I think the scar will be less obvious as time goes by.

  7. Mummy-J ~ Really? No cure for your hubby's eye? Doc did check his vision and everything are fine. Now is only the scare there.

suituapui ~ Yes, luckily his vision is still ok. That's more important. Scare here, scare there look like samseng la! haha

lil'bulb ~ I also dare not apply. That's y still considering because it is on the eye. Eyes are very sensitive.

Linda ~ His specialist also did not give any cream. Maybe there is nothing to take away that scare.

Alice Law ~ Oh, that's good! Having a foreign things around our body is so uncomfortable.

Broccoli Ginger ~ Doc said no more puss and everything are clean already. Hopefully the scare will not be so clear when he grows up.

  8. I think you may be able to do some small surgery later to remove that scar down the road, have to wait for him to grow up first.

  11. Hi Lady, regret read of your boy's eye problem.
I am no doctor, but I dare say no need worry about that scar....it will disappear.
I had several bad wounds with scars, but they hardly visible as I grew up.

I at age 6 ran into my father's long parang just as he about to chop a branch. 15 stitches on my forehead! But today unless I tell someone, nobody knows or notices.
So, don't worry about it....he'll be fine.
    Best regards, Lee.

  12. Don't use Vit E cream near the eyes. Vit E can cause skin irritation or worse if it goes into the eyes. Kids skin heal very fast, scar will fade away!

  13. Glad to know his eyes is OK already. About the scarring, hopefully it will be unnoticeable by the time he grows up. Anyway, in the practical sense, for boys, good looks is not that important, what's more important is his ability to make money! Hehehehe.....give you an example: look at Lim Kok Wing!

  14. Gallivanter ~ Wow...surgery sounds so serious. Not a good move. I will prefer it to heal on its own if possible.

smallkucing ~ Hopefully. But what the doc. said does make sense. I believe when he grows up, his skin will stretch and make the scare less obvious.

Mummy Gwen ~ Ya...hopefully the scare will be gone, miraculously.

Uncle Lee ~ OMG ! Y did you ran into your father's parang??? Glad that your scare are not obvious at all. And thks for the comforting word. :)

Pete ~ Thks. Because it is around his eye, I dare not use anything to apply. Too sensitive. Hopefully, the scare will fade away.

Alice Phua ~ LOL!!!! Ya ya...$$$ making is more important. hahaha.....Good point!
