Bye bye Diapers

Everynight, I will put on diaper for YX before going to bed. Never want to let the history repeat again. LOL !

Recently, I've noticed that his diaper stayed dry when he woke up in the morning. This has been going on for nearly 1 month already. So, I've decided to let him go diaperless. Glad that he did not make any fuss when I told him "U are a big boy now. No need to wear pampers to sleep. If you want to pee, go to the toilet, ok?" and he replied me OK, confidently.

Yesterday, marked YX being diaperless for 1 week already and happy to say that no accident at all !! (touch wood)! However, I have to make sure he goes to the toilet before bedtime. YX @ 3 yrs 8 months.

A few weeks ago, was e-mailing and blog-talking with my ex-secondary schoolmate (Mummy-J)about our babies. At that moment, she 'poisoned' my mind and asked me to invest on cloth diapers instead. As per her knowledge, she said disposable diapers are loaded with harmful chemicals which are not good for babies. After exchanging some e-mails with her, my mind was fully washed clean by her and decided to try on the cloth diapers. ^_^

Since baby XJ are capable of telling us whenever she wants to poo most of the time, putting her on the cloth diapers should not be a problem in term of washing. You know, washing soiled diapers are so yucky! However, since she is not fully toilet-trained yet she still pretty dependable on the diaper day and night.

Googled for this image

Recommended by Mummy-J as her baby is using this brand too.
Bought 2 pieces and so far, after using twice there are no leakage.

Googled for this image. Babyland cloth diapers.

Out of curiosity, I went to Google and found so many other
brands of cloth diapers. This brand are cheaper, so I ordered another 2 pieces.
But the stock will only be in by early June.

I'm happy to be able to introduce a healthier life to my baby while secondly, I can help the world to be GREENER. However, I HATE WASHING !!!! :(

I know, there is the washing machine, but before throwing everything into the washing machine, I need to hand wash away the urine first. That takes away my precious 5 minutes. Nevermind. I told myself, I just need some TIME to get used to it.

Next, Mummy-J poisoned my mind again on something else......... Will blog about it soon. ;) You may hop over to her blog to read about her cute little baby girl. ^_^

  1. Hahaha...my boy is still using diapers when he goeas to sleep. But in the morning, I am happy that he can pee and poop in the toilet. So far, there is no complain about the harmful effect of diapers. I think it is just a discovery but no proven evidence about its harmful effect. My boy has been using diapers for four years and he is still healthy.

    Have a nice day yeah?

  7. Willie ~ Actually my boy are using disposable diaper for about 3 yrs + too. Just that the more I heard about the harmful effect, the more tempting to get the cloth type. hehe...

Sheoh Yan ~ For long term, yes. They aren't cheap though. Errmm...your dilemma is to have a 3rd baby or on the cloth diapers? haha....

Cynthia ~ Wow...Princess B are fully on cloth diapers! How you wash le? In one whole day, how many pieces you used? Oh yes, I've ordered the Babyland but the stock will only be in next month.

Mommy Ling ~ No comment from him :( Kayu !

eugene ~ Oh yes...they are very expensive. Considering in 24 hours, I will need to use 3 - 4 pieces on baby, 1 pack can only last me for about 1 month or less. Errmm....do you mean buying TOYS. haha.....

  12. Congratz to you and welcome to your big boy's diaperless nights!!

I attempted to let my girl go diaperless at night, it worked a week or so with very few "accident"... but once my MIL comes to my house for oevrnight stays, she will insist to put her on diaper( she doesn't allow any accident from my girl)!!! Thuh~!! I'm kind of fed-up already... sigh!

It's awesomely cool you get baby XJ the reusable diapers, you are indeed a GREEN mommy!^-^ Have a nice day to you!

  13. We have been saying goodbye and welcoming back the diaper for weeks, probably months now. Although she clears her bladder just b4 bed, "accidents" still happen quite frequently. Really sien. We're now on the last pack of diaper. By hook or by crook, it will have to be goodbye for good when the last one is used haha. Not going to buy anymore diapers... ;-)

  17. yeah, i would say this is just temporary for your girl.. aren't these clothes diaper an enhancement from those piece of cloths we had in the good old days, added with pads to absorb urine..

for your baby's health sake, i think you won't mind that extra 5 minutes to clean it before dumping into the washing machine right??

  18. congrats ! diaperless before 4. that's really a milestone !
I can't imagine washing cloth diapers ! I already find it hard to manage my laundry with my schedule and cloth diapers - must wash every day and almost immediately right ? However, I'm sure you are doing your bits for the environment.
Pssttt... yr friend poison yr mind. to use cloth pads issit ?

  19. Oohh good thing you're greener now with cloth diapers! But I understand your sentiments really.. when I was young, with a baby brother, I too had to clean those cloth diapers off the urine. Yuck! :( How? I'll worry about this when I have my own kids next time :P

  20. First of all, congrats YX for being diaperless now.. Big boy already! Yes... Cloth diaper is indeed a "greener" choice for our baby. I also hunting for some good quality CD for my second baby now.

  23. Alice Law ~ Haha...your MIL give you less work to do ma (to wash the soiled bedsheet). In actual fact, I'm not sure if I've made the right decision to put baby on cloth diapers. Got to take times to get used to it.

Chloe ~ haha...bye and welcome back ! Take it easy. Soon, am sure C will not need the diaper anymore during night bedtime.

smallkucing ~ yea...for the boy only. But my girl still needs them very much. haha..

suituapui ~ Gosh! Y do you need cloth diaper for adults???!!!!

cheeyee ~ haha...bed 'cho cho'. I hate it when they wet my bed.

[SK] ~ ya...those cloth diapers are improved version. No need to fold here and there and use pin to secure. haha....Hmmm...I'm still trying to sort out that extra 5 minutes to wash her cloth diapers. Am I regretting? i'm not too sure ;(

coffeesncookies ~ I soak them with some detergent before simply rinse them away. Then only dump them into the washing machine. Errmm.... haha...psst....wait for my post...maybe next week.

p & p mum ~ Really! But how's the washing part? Ok? 100% on cloth diapers or mix with disposable?

iamthewitch ~ Wow...such a good sister and daughter. Washing baby brother's soiled diaper. When u become a mother, shit also not smelly anymore la! haha That;s the sacrifies of a mother.

  24. Serene ~ U can try Babyland brand. I think they are the cheapest of all (from what i observed). But the quality, I'm not too sure coz need to wait till next month only can try. Good step but don't be regret like me on the washing part. hehe

Mummy Gwen ~ Slowly, am sure Gwen will ditched the diaper too. She will proof that to you soon. Just wait and see. Ahem....*hint* for your hubby? haha....it is good to give Gwen a companion.

Kelvin ~ LOL! U joker. For old people, they said cloth diaper more cooling and softer. For me, disposable more convinnence. Wrap and throw. haha
