Decorations ?

As usual, everytime we went back home after work, we will be greeted by this 2 little cheerful kids. Our tired face will be plastered with a BIG smile upon seeing them. However, yesterday we were being greeted by something else. This boy of mine was so proud to show us his masterpiece and said "Mama, look there !" *pointing with his pointer*

I was shocked when I saw this..........

click the picture for larger view.

The wall was 'decorated' with colour pencils from this end to the other end.

The middle part

Some Japanese writing?

The other end

YX admitted that he and baby XJ 'coloured' the wall.

His Story : Baby coloured first. Then he joined in.

MIL, who was the only person alone at home with the 2 kids did not even know about this not until she saw hubby and I looking at that piece of wall. We guess she was in the kitchen preparing dinner while the kids enjoying themselves in the living room.

Baby still do not know how to tell us story, so we just have to believe YX that BOTH were involved. No. We did not punished the kids. We did not know the true story behind this. But we were all happy that YX admitted his mistake.

Up in the room (sleeping time), I explained to YX again about his wrong doing and advised him not to repeat such act. If ever he saw baby doing it again, he should inform MIL immediately and not joining his baby sister in the fun. Else, we will throw away all his colour pencils.

Since both kids did not take their afternoon nap, they slept early. Hubby and I then, went down to wipe off their 'decorations' with a wet cloth. Glad that the colour came out easily without leaving any marks !

  1. Haha... Kids.. My boy used to "beautify" our house walls with pens when he was younger. No way we could rub them off except to put a new coat of paint.Haiz...

  5. Normal... Some children love doing that! It's ok - the phase will pass and then you can have your house repainted. That's part of having kids - comes in a package.

  8. Hmmm, i think u can leave a empty wall for them to draw and paint. Drawing and painting helps to train their creativity.
Don't limit them on drawing papers:)

  9. Drawing on the wall is not wrong isn't it?

  10. Luckily it can be removed easily. It's just a matter of time that they start to conteng on the wall hor. Gwen hasn't discovered that yet. *fingers croseed*

  12. My children did that before at the babysitter's house. My elder won't dare to do that, she also followed her younger sister one. So, I also warned them for not doing that again.

Gratitude ~ Oh! Thank goodness. Otherwise I will pengsan.

    suituapui ~ hahah...yes...in a package.

SP ~ Haha...don't judge a book by its cover! I'm very fierce type. With the kids around, EVERYDAY also have to get angry!

Kelvin ~ That's a very positive look! I like that idea. Wait till I have my own house, maybe will spare 1 piece of wall for them to doodle. Currently staying with FIL. It is just impossible!

  15. it's just very difficult to avoid that, kids just like to draw and write, if they can't find paper, wall will be the 2nd best choice..

my brother's two kids just conteng a lot on the wall, till we gave up and just leave them there.. haha!!

  16. Kiahahaha! Your kids remind me of my childhood. I used to scribble my mom's wall too, she didn't scold nor ask me to clean the wall... which I think it might be one of the 'contributor' that I excelled in Art later at school! So when it's Juan Juan's turn, I praised her instead. But I told her that if she was able to draw on a paper that would be nicer(so that I could keep her masterpiece; the scribble on wall soon will be faded)! Since then, she only draw on the papers. :)

Btw, thanks for your warm regards! Juan Juan has fully recovered since yesterday; my boy just discharged from the hospital, he is doing well now! Thanks you! I really appreciate it!:)

    Please enjoy your weekend!

  17. Mummy J ~ Depending on what mistake they do. For this conteng conteng, I used to do that too when I was a kid. So I can understand their curiousity. haha....Moreover, we did not see who started to draw on the wall first. We just need to guide them. This is part of parenthood. ;D

[SK] ~ Haha...I used to do that too when I was a kid! Mum and dad also did not punish me. I think this is the factor which leads me NOT TO punish the kids too. It is part of their creativity but as a parents, we still need to guide them what is right and what is wrong.

Alice Law ~ *high 5* I like to draw on the wall too when I was a kid, but I did not do well in my arts ;( Wah! u r using pyschology on Juan Juan. Kids love soft talk. They tend to listen better ya.

Glad that both kids are well now. ;D

  19. Haha... finally, it happens in your house. C did that too, quite long ago. I punished her and gave her a stern warning and she hasn't done that since. Too bad I'm not the type who is able to accept this kind of creativity. To me, this is vandalism haha!
