Ice Room @ Nilai

The other day, we went to Ice Room in Nilai to have late lunch. We arrived around 2.30 pm and thought we were already very late. But to our surprised, there were quite a number of tables being occupied. Some were families with children and some were teenagers. As we were having our meals, people were still coming in. Everyone eat that late? ^_^

The entrance of ice Room.
The ambiance were very nice. Comfortable, clean and spacious. Love the interior. They have Free WiFi too.

I'm too paiseh to take the picture inside the restaurant because the workers were walking up and down. But I manged to snap a few pictures of the menu to show you what they are offering. Hubby wish to try No.1312 or No. 1306 while I wish to try No. 1203. But ended up, we did not order anything from this 'SNACK' section. We were afraid that we were unable to finish the food. So, we put that into our 'next-visit list'.

They served a variety of rice and noodles. Thought of eating the asam fish (No. 1413), but other things attracted me. So did not order that. Hubby ordered something from this section.

And this was the section that attracted me. The Western food. That day, just had a crave for western food.

Then, the SOUP section were so tempting. Couldn't resist myself from ordering. Since hubby is not a fan of Tom Yam soup, I did not order that even I was drooling for it. Both of us always share our food. So we ordered something which both of us eat.

The ICE section were also so tempting but luckily we managed to resist ourselves from ordering. It came in a HUGE bowl which I don't think we could finished them after our mains. If we have more people, maybe we will order and share. This was put into our 'next-visit list' as well ^_^

This was hubby's order (No. 1409). The chicken were very tasty and crispy. The meat were tender and they did a very good job in marinating the chicken meat before frying. However, the black pepper sauce was a big let down. It was a tad too sweet and we couldn't even taste the spiciness and the aromas of the black pepper. I will rate this dish 7/10.

This was my order (No.1601). I regretted ordering this dish because it did not turned out as what I've expected. As the black pepper sauce was the same with the chicken rice, it make the lamb chop worst. The meat were very tender but certain parts were not cooked evenly. Could still see the raw meat sticking on the bones. The salad somehow rescue this palate as the salad sauce were very creamy. Goes very well with the fresh vege. The fries were crispy and not salty which I will rate this dish 5/10. Maybe next time should order the Fish N Chip.

The mushroom soup in teapot + garlic bread were the BEST among what we had ordered. We had fun pouring the soup into the cup while dipping the garlic bread into it. (manged to pour about 3 full cups of soup). They used those local Hainanese bread and we just loved the skin ! If MIL and YX are with us that day, sure they will love this bread. It is both of their favorite too especially the tough SKIN.

However, the soup were a bit too watery. As for the taste, I would give thumbs up because it was not too salty and have a lots of finely chopped mushroom pieces. I will rate this 9/10. The bread and the soup were such a great combinations.

Overall, we paid RM33.30 (inclusive of 5% tax). We did not order any drinks as we knew such drinks will be very sweet. Therefore, we had plain water in the car. Healthier. haha.
