Tension morning

Waking up a child in the morning for school is no fun. Every morning, I will have to CARRY YX to the toilet. Sometimes, he will cry, sometimes he will just mumble "I'm tired, I want to sleep" and sometimes, he is ok. Those ok moments will only happen 1 in every 10 times!

Previously, I served him milk before asking him to brush his teeth. It will be easier to wake him up this way. But now, it is the other way round.

I make sure he MUST brush his teeth first before taking his milk because he will VOMIT every time he brushes his teeth after milk.

If he brushes his teeth before taking milk, he is fine.

Most of the morning, he will greet me with his sour sleepy face. And I will be rushing and shouting like mad asking him to be FAST FAST FAST.

At night, I will off the lights at 8.30pm (the latest) but he will only sleep at around 9.30pm. He will sing and talk despite my numerous warnings.

Kids. When it is time to sleep, they refuse to sleep. When it is time to wake up, they want more sleep.

And I noticed that his 'energizer' battery could last longer now.........no nap in the afternoon, he is still so active !!! How to make him tired ?

  2. Ahahaha, I understand that because I face the same problem, 4 out of 5 mornings in the weekdays.

But YX sleeps so early at night, 9.30pm? Mine sleeps at 11pm (at least!) and imagine the hassle I have to go through every morning!!

  4. I agree with you on this. When we are tired, and we want them to sleep, they will try to delay the sleep time. I have problem to get them to bed too. My girls like to talk a lot before they doze off.

  9. Hey... I'm touched by Voon's comment, he is so frank!

LOL, just stop his sugar intake, muahahaha! I personally think it's awesome that your boy is energetic, this symbolizes that he is healthy, cheerful and full of energy! Just keep him occupied with books, sports, crafts and other activities!;D

  11. my boy is very active too! What I make him tired is, let him run around in the evening. If he likes cycling, let him cycles puas-puas, if not let him run and run and run.

  12. Haha...tell me about it. It's very hard to wake Gwen up in the morning these days. I think I should move her bedtime earlier lah. Her bedtime is between 10.30 - 11 pm.

  13. I think most kids are like that la... so just take it easy. My Chloe is also like that... once she gets out of bed, she must go and lie down on the sofa and enjoy her cartoon and milk first. She can't just get up from bed and go brush her teeth etc.

  15. I guess these are the challenges of raising children! Well, like Wenn said enjoy them while they are still young, cos the time will pass and when they grow older, things will be different : )

  16. maybe 8.30 pm really too early to sleep la... how about 9.30 pm then only start to sleep?

let him learn swimming after school lar... then can make good use of his energy... and at night, he'll be tired and can sleep well. besides, swimming is good for his health too.
