My fierce little girl

XJ @ 2.5 years old
1st time had her hair being 'decorated'
The other weekend, we had dinner with hubby's side relatives. Since XJ's hair are quite long already (intended to keep long hair for her), MIL 'decorated' her hair with those mini clips that I bought.

This little girl of mine can be very sweet at times, and can be very fierce too !

Case 1
She was disturbing her brother doing homework. MIL came and told her NOT to disturb while asking her to watch tv, bla bla bla..........SUDDENLY she blurted out " Don't say anymore arr, when mama is back from work, I will asked mama to beat you ! " (in mandarin). Gosh ! MIL was shocked.

When we came back, MIL related the whole incident to us. I was surprised that my sweet little girl will talk so rudely to MIL until I realized where she learnt this.

Everytime when she disturb YX, we will tell YX NOT to fight with her. We taught YX to inform us instead and we will punished her. And YX will usually said to XJ " I will tell mama and asked mama to beat you".

Case 2
Whenever YX took toy #1, XJ will want to have the same. When YX took toy #2, XJ will want to have the same too. This happen vise versa too.

But that afternoon, YX was playing with one particular toy and XJ wanted to snatch away from him. YX was taller, hence XJ did not managed to do so. And what did she do ? She pinched YX's face with both of her hands ! Wah....MIL was shocked to see XJ's reaction and quickly pulled her away.

*Shake head*, she is really a fierce little girl.

Our simple lunch

* I've done some amendment on my previous post (Parking @ Jusco Seremban 2)

3 dishes
This morning, I felt the whole house was filled with aromas. I knew MIL was cooking something but I did not know what. When I came downstair, MIL told me she had prepared 3 dishes for us to bring to the office for our lunch ! She even packed everything nicely and put in our car ! I was so touched !

Stir fried Otak otak with onions

Stir fried kailan

Stir fried cauliflowers
Our simple lunch this afternoon. Satisfying and filled with LOVE ! Thank you Mother (that's how I called MIL).

Parking @ Jusco Seremban 2

* Amendment * Please click on the link in red to see a clearer picture which was published in The Star on 16 March 2011

Crash !
A few weeks ago, SIL went to Jusco with her friends and saw this accident at the parking lot @ Jusco Seremban 2. She was shocked and hence took down a picture as many shoppers also stopped to snap a picture.

I've sent the picture to The Star Publications hopping to win a RM50 but some other people's picture were selected instead because his / her picture was very much clearer. Zoomed to the max I guess.

I hope both drivers and passengers were unhurt. Just can't believe how he / she did that !

'Decorations' again !

* I've updated  'My Arts, My Inspirations'. Please feel free to hop over. Thank you *

Left : Recent works by YX,
Right : Few months ago done by both YX and XJ

Punishment !
A closer look at what YX drew !

Few days ago when we were back home after work, we were shocked to see the wall with some extra 'decorations', AGAIN !

The 1st time was over here.

The 2nd time, I did not blog about it. The kids did it again a few months back (ushering the Rabbit Year). They used color pencils and ball pen. Hubby and I did not managed to clear off the mess and we decided to leave it this way. We planned to buy a can of paint to repaint that piece of wall one of the day. Of course we did reprimanded the kids. No cane was being used.

Never did we imagined that, the wall was being 'decorated' again for the 3rd TIME ! And this time, YX was the only person who did it. He was supposed to do his homework but he 'conteng' the wall instead with his pencil.

Hubby took out the cane but I stopped him. To think back, my brother and I used to draw on the wall too when we were small. And 9 out of 10 kids I've known, drew on the wall. If majority of kids did that, YX is no different. He is just a NORMAL & CURIOUS child. I don't think he should be caned. But of course we did tell him that it is WRONG to draw on the wall.

When YX saw the cane on hubby's hand, he was very scared and started to cry.

I explained to YX that it was WRONG to draw on the wall because wall is meant to be clean to make the house look beautiful. Drawing on the wall = dirtied the wall. I did asked him some common sense questions and he did answered me correctly.

I reminded YX that he should draw on a piece of PAPER instead of on the wall.

I made YX apologized to hubby for his mistake and say "I promise NOT TO DRAW ON THE WALL again in the future".

Glad that hubby's 'fire' doused off once he heard YX's trembling voice. We made him rub away the mess with an eraser but it was quite hard to clean it off totally. What's important is I wanted him to FEEL the difficulty in cleaning the wall. His hands were very tired rubbing. And he was all sweaty once his 'job' was done.

We had decided to repaint that piece of wall, soon. Or maybe we should wait till they grew up first ?

Art ?

A design each
The other day, YX wore 2 different slipper when we went out for dinner. We did not noticed it until we were inside the car on our way home after dinner ! Have you or your kid ever done that before?

Homemade 'cacat' pancakes

After reading about a pancake post in STP's blog, I quickly took down the recipe and hopping I could make it for YX one day. YX is a big fans of pancakes. Me too ! I've tried the pancake mix (box type) and they tasted HORRIBLE !

One fine day, I happen to have all the required ingredient available and asked YX if he would love to have some pancakes? He was delighted and gave me a loud YES !

But before we head to the kitchen, I told him IF my pancakes did not turn out good, (because it is my first time making them) then he will have to eat bread instead for breakfast ! hahaha......

And my pancakes turned out to be a little bit 'cacat'. I don't know how to flip the pancakes and I poured too little mixture into the pan. Hence, my pancakes turned out to be out of shape and too thin !

Not properly shaped pancakes. YX asked me why is my pancakes not round ?

Very thinly fried pancake but luckily not burnt !
But, don't judge a book by it's cover !

The pancakes were delicious ! Thanks to STP for the recipe. You can get the recipe over here.

YX loves them !

He walloped 3 slices and asked for more !
I will be going to do it again this coming weekends since I still have those ingredients in the fridge.

Mr Lucky & Mr Disappointed

During the day trip to PD on last Sunday, we met Mr Lucky & Mr Disappointed.

MR. LUCKY
That day was a very hot day. I had to bring my kids' water bottles along so they can have water to drink to keep them hydrated. With their water bottles to carry, I decided to put everything into a recycle bag (which I kept in the car) so I can sling the bag over my shoulder. I put my pouch (purse + mobile phone) in that bag as well. Never did I realized, that recycle bag torn at the bottom. As we were walking towards the beach area, one of the water bottle dropped with a loud 'pong' sound. Everyone stopped and I quickly picked up the bottle. Then, hubby (who was a few steps in front of me) shouted that my pouch was on the road, BEHIND. I got panicked and quickly ran as fast as I could to pick up my pouch. Thanks god I managed to get it back within minutes of dropping it. I can't imagine the hassle I will have to go through if I've lost my IC, credit cards, mobile phone, license and etc etc. I was really lucky ! Phew !

MR DISAPPOINTED
At lunch time, we decided to eat at one of a so-called famous seafood restaurant (located next to a temple). I've got to know about this restaurant from reading a blog while hubby read it from the newspaper sometimes ago.  At the time we arrived, the restaurant was about 60% crowded. We were already prepared knowing we will have to wait for some time before the food will be served. We chose a table and waiting for someone to take our order.

Nobody came to us even the waiter saw us walked in (obviously, we are new customers). We waited while waving our hands hopping one of the staff will noticed us, but none. We waited again and finally the lady boss who was sitting at the cashier counter saw us. She came and took our order. Soon, our pot of Chinese Tea was served. Both kids were eating fried chicken which SIL bought from the A & W booth near the beach area. There were some carnival going on.

Our order : 1) Fried Rice, 2) Salted egg mantis prawn, 3) Kam Heong Lala, 4) Stir fried vege

After reasonable time of waiting, I commented that their service were very SLOW. MIL agreed with me. We decided to wait for a little while before making a complaint. We were hoping they will served us the fried rice first and the others can come gradually. But NO. We waited again until we saw our next table who came LATER than us were being served with their 1st dish. We even have high hopes that ours will be coming NEXT. But NO. Again, they served our neighbor table their 2nd dishes and 3rd dishes.

Hubby decided to check with the lady boss (who took our order) and told them that other who came later were already being served. The lady boss then went into the kitchen and check. To our GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT, our order chit was LOST ! She couldn't locate it in the kitchen or on the cashier table and even dare to announce so loudly in front of us while checking with one of her foreign workers.

We left the restaurant empty stomach. Oh.....not really empty because we had a few glasses of Chinese Tea.

We wasted our time their waiting for nothing. Luckily the kids had their fried chicken. And we vowed never to return to that restaurant anymore. No 2nd chance because the lady boss DID NOT even apologize to us. With her sour face, she just said "Aiya, don't know where my worker put that piece of paper" while her face looked somewhere else !

Army Museum @ PD

Last Sunday (20 Mar 2011), we brought the kids to visit the Military Museum in PD. We had planned to go there early (around 8am) so the kids could play at the seaside before we visit the Museum which was open at around 10am. However, our plan did not work as planned because we woke up late : p

We had breakfast at home and left for PD at around 9 plus. By the time we reached, it was already very HOT !

A huge plane
Train

Army's trucks

Helicopter

Bomb

Army's Pre-packed food for tasting.
Biscuits and pineapple jam.
We were given a packet each at one of the booth.

Underground tunnel
XJ posing under the hot sun.

What's really fun at this museum on that day was, we can hold a REAL RIFLE !

YX got all excited when he can hold a real rifle !

XJ too, tried to hold the rifle

After the museum, we went to the nearby beach for a stroll under the shady coconut trees. YX requested to play at the beach but we did not allowed as it was really hot. Moreover, I did not bring extra cloths for them.

Lovely ocean.

It was hot but windy !

The loving brother and sister.

We promised that we will bring them to PD another time for them to play with the sea water and sands. Maybe we should book a night at one of the hotel for a short holiday !

Next, I met Mr Lucky & Mr Disappointed at PD.

YX's Masterpieces

The other day as I was browsing through the kids' baby photos, I came to realized that YX already knew how to draw when he was only 2 years 3 month. I was glad that I took the picture. Kids grew up fast. Every moment are so precious and a photo could brings back those wonderful memories.

He drew a pig

 He drew a snowman
All the below pictures are drew by him when he was older......3 years + and above. I've kept them in a file and he treasured them so much.

I've tried to rotate the below 2 pictures but it was still loaded like this.

Dogs with a bone each.

Cats with a fish bone each. The 1st cat have a whole fat fish.

cow under the hot sun

Frog eating flies

Dog with spots. He drew this in the car when he followed me to the govt office in Putrajaya during one of his school holidays.

Clown with balloons.

Dog under the hot sun
Since YX love to draw so much, I've decided to set up a new blog specially for him. Feel free to visit ' My Arts, My Inspirations'. Thank you  ^_^

Crafts time

This is a very outdated post. Below are the crafts YX and I had done during the last school holidays (Nov/Dec). We got the idea from Teacher Merryn - Crafty Crafted Studio.

I'm not too sure if YX really enjoyed his crafts sessions but he was very happy with the end product and will proudly showed them to MIL and hubby. However, he is not patience enough to do the painting. After colored for about 20 % or so, he will pass the whole things to me saying he was very tired.

Caterpillar.
YX asked me why does that caterpillar looked so sad ?

UFO
It looks more like a pizza to me !

Octopus
He insisted to apply 2 colors on the octo.

Fish
We used red beans as the eyes

Aeroplane
Not so nicely done but he love this the most, besides than the UFO.

We did one craft a day and that already took about 1 - 2 hours of our time. We are slow learners. haha... Nevertheless, I must say we make good use of our time together. It was fun.

Coming up next ........ YX's masterpiece........

Stickers

During the CNY holidays, we went for window shopping at a local shopping mall and YX spotted some stickers with his favorite characters - ULTRAMAN. Of course he requested us to buy for him but we told him to 'earn' it instead. Meaning, he has to be a good boy before we buy it for him.

One fine day, his wish was granted because he makes us happy ! We purposely drove all the way to the shopping mall just to buy the stickers for him. * happened we are free at that time. It was a Sunday *  We make him realized that being a good boy, he will be rewarded.

Ultraman name stickers for YX and Mixture of cartoons name stickers for XJ
64 pieces @ RM 5
Of course, we have to buy a set for XJ too. At the shop, YX did not even changed his mind at all. He still requested for the ULTRAMAN as seen earlier. However, we spent quite some time to choose for XJ. She wanted Mickey mouse. Then, when she saw dogs, she wanted to change. We asked her to make up her mind and she decided on Jie Jie (Barbie dolls). Then, she changed her mind again and said she wanted Doraemon. LOL !  Finally, we chose the mixed cartoon characters for her and she was happy with it.

YX's rewards
We suggested him to stick on his water bottle so he can see the stickers whenever he wants to drink water.

Normally, I used the stickers to reward YX during the morning wake up time. You know how hard it was to wake a child up for school in the early morning. I reminded him NOT TO CRY (as his crying makes me felt very tensed in the early morning), BRUSHED HIS TEETH AND DRINK HIS MILK without dilly dally and I will reward him with one sticker. So far, it worked but of course in some days, he will still showed his sour face. When he was out of control, I just need to chant the magic word "stickers, stickers, stickers" and it did knocked some senses into him. He will count his stickers everyday and proudly told us that he has collected xxx numbers of stickers.

XJ's rewards
As for XJ, she does not know how to appreciate the stickers yet. She will peeled and sticked back (repeated a few times) until the stickers are not sticky anymore. Therefore, I've suggested her to stick the stickers on one of her toy which was kept in the bedroom. Unlike her water bottle, she won't be touching the toy unless she is in the bedroom, hence there will be a possibility the stickers will still sticked there for a longer time. But when she saw the toy, her itchy hand will be peeling the stickers again.....therefore, only 2 left at the time I took this picture.

The name printed on the stickers will fade when being rubbed against. But the cartoon printed on the stickers will remained and the quality of the stickers are quite good. They are thick and not easily torn. What really matters are, the stickers worked like magic on YX (even not 100%, but I'm happy enough).

Finger licking good

XJ loves to eat meat, especially chicken. However, she loves to eat them on her own way rather than being cut or shredded into small pieces.

As all of us already finished our meal, we 'ta pau' the chicken drumstick and let her eat while enjoying her 'not-moving kiddy rides'. hehehe......

yum......delicious drumstick

going to finish soon.............

Done !
