Both YX and XJ never like to eat 'Char kuey teow'. Normally, they will only eat the fried eggs. Since they don't like it, we never offer to them whenever we have 'char kuey teow'. However, yesterday they seems to have a change of their taste bud.
MIL bought back 3 packs of 'char kuey teow' (without cockles) and YX suddenly said he wanted to eat. Surprise ! Surprise !
We quickly gave him a small bowl and he enjoyed it !
We gave XJ a bowl too. Seeing his brother enjoying every strand of noodles, XJ can't resist and polished off her bowl too !
Both ate everything including the bean sprout which they NEVER like before. YX even proudly announced that he did not picked out the bean sprouts and swallowed everything !
As a reward, I gave both a bottle of Vitagen and encourage them to try more new food in the future. I told them there are so much of good food in Malaysia. haha
I hope they will enjoy spicy food in the future ie satay sauce and curry which they still refuse to try, especially YX. The other day, XJ tried the satay sauce and she kept on saying very spicy but she still continue to dip into it.
As the kids grow, taste also will change.
ReplyDeletemaybe they became more willing to try...
DeleteKids grow and their taste bud change gradually...depends..
ReplyDeleteI do observed that and I agreed with that. Sometimes, we adults also change our taste bud. hehe
DeleteSo nice to have siblings to 'encourage' each other :)
ReplyDeleteSTP had said what I wanted to say. haha
DeleteYa...their tastes change as they grow up. My daughter would only eat the white in salted eggs...but now she loves the yolk...
ReplyDeleteThe salted egg's yolk is the best. And laughing at your message to Merryn......
DeleteP.S.
ReplyDeleteMerryn, make one for Ethan... Quick! Quick! LOL!!!
It is always happy to see our kids accepting new food that we introduce. I know how you feel.
ReplyDeleteyes yes....is 'that' feeling. Thks for understanding :D
DeleteThis is one thing I yearn to see in my children - change of taste! Mine are so unadventurous!! They would rather fast to trying out new food. Tsk, tsk... But one thing good, siblings like to 'monkey see, monkey do' :D
ReplyDeleteMy boy is more picky while my girl is consider better. And agreed on the monkey see monkey do. Both kids love to compete with each other. haha...a good way to motivate each other.
DeleteSooner or later, they might ask you for more "new" food to taste! :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully :D
DeleteKids change their taste buds often huh. But hope they won't dislike those food they love.
ReplyDeletehaha....I was also thinking if they will dislike their once favourite food. haha
Deletewhy they don like char kueh tiau? tot all kids like this ?
ReplyDeletebb-g likes it a lot. then she also enjoy eting satay now...
my kids a bit picky especially my boy.
DeleteGood...bb-g knows how to enjoy food. haha...
hahaha, surprised they don't like char koay teow.. so what triggered them to try and finally like it that day?? hmmm, maybe next time starve them and give them only one option, sure they will eat, haha~~ :D
ReplyDeletethis uncle [SK] very 'chik akk' (heartless). haha.... but I think they are hungry that day....true also. haha.....
DeleteMaybe if got siblings they are more willing to try new food. Gwen don't really like CKT.
ReplyDeleteOhh...Gwen don't like CKT too! haha...maybe she will change her taste soon.
DeleteCockerel is a rooster... u meant cockles... hahaha... just have to comment on that...
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for pointing out my mistake. Seriously, I did not notice it !
Deleteyummy! I love char kuey teow too... I guess kids change their tastebuds all the time :-)
ReplyDeleteOur family love CKT but too oily ......so unhealthy. haha... and glad the kids now love CKT too.....we can share the next time we eat CKT :D
DeleteKids' tastebuds will always change. At least YX and XJ are willing to try the CKT. I sometimes have to force my Chloe to try new food.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are a bit picky especially my boy. It is quite hard to force them to accept new food which they refuse.
DeleteIt's a nice feeling right, when your children start accepting food they don't like before? Victory! hahah.
