While I was browsing through a free magazine for the community of Seremban, I saw an advertisement on a newly operated art school. It was just a few minutes drive away from our home. This time, I intended to include XJ since she already attended school. I quickly call the art center to find out more details. The timing are suitable for us and the fees are quite reasonable. Now, I need to pass the test on both YX and XJ. If they refuse to attend the art class, I will have to give up the hope.
After work, I talked to both kids. I asked if they are interested to attend art classes, a totally new art class from the previous one which YX attended. To my delights, both seems interested. I called the teacher again in the evening on the same day to double confirmed on the timing and said both my kids are interested. The next day (11 May 2012), they started their 1st lesson ! ( I planned to let them start the lesson in June but the teacher said they can start almost immediately, so I agreed ).
| Happy mood attending their 1st lesson. |
~ more organized and have a standard teaching guidelines. Click here for more info.
~ Each class have a maximum of 10 students as the teacher does not want to have a big group which will make the learning difficult.
For both YX & XJ, we choose the Friday class (the only time suitable for us) and it was a blessing because currently, the teacher only teaches them both. A private tutor !
~ This center have a few franchises around Malaysia, especially in Perak state. I believe, the center origin is from Perak. ~ Besides than drawing, the center offers art & crafts too but we did not enroll the kids for it. We shall see later.
~ Each lessons took 2 hours.
~ Fees are based on per 8 hours course (which equivalent to 4 lessons) and not those standard per month basis.
If we are not available on a particular Friday, we can attend the class on the following Friday. Once we used up the 8 hours, we will have to pay the next fees. Currently, fees at RM 50 per child.
~ The center are operates during Public Holidays as well.
~ The teacher teaches the kids on cleanliness too.
After the class, teacher make sure they wash their hands.
~ Teacher does not rush in the teaching.
Teacher started with colour pencils and when they are good in the
toning, teacher will proceed with oil painting, then water colours and
the final, a combination of oil and water painting.
So do the kids enjoyed themselves on their first day ? Yes, they did !
During the class, teacher make sure the kids drink their water and goes to the toilet too (this was what YX told me).
I'm looking forward for every Friday now so we can sent the kids for art class while hubby and I can have our Me time ! for at least 2 hours.
it's good to know that the teachers are actually "baby sitting" the kids rather than just only let them draw on their own..
ReplyDeleteThe teacher is very friendly. At least, she gave me a very good 1st impression.
DeleteOh, YX is returning to his art class? I see he's really talented in art and this skill shouldn't get wasted :)
ReplyDeleteYes...he is still keen to learn. Change him to a new art school might be good to him too....at least a new environment and he has got baby sister to accompany him this time :D
DeleteSo good that both of them are going the the same art class now. YX will be happier to have his baby sister accompany her.
ReplyDeleteAt least both can accompany each other.
Deletehaha...so wat do you plan to do during our me time?
ReplyDeletehaha.....hubby already planned with me to eat here and there during that 2 hours.
DeleteWow! It's good indeed that they were willing to enroll themselves in art class. Their creativity will unleash!
ReplyDeleteI was indeed glad that both agreed to learn.
DeleteYes, yes...never force the kids into doing anything they do not enjoy. Let them live their childhood years they way ion which they would cherish forever as the best years of their lives.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, many modern parents seem to deprive their kids of this...and when the dreaded consequences surface, they wonder where they have gone wrong.
Yes...i let them decide on their own. They should know better what they like and what they don't. At the end, it is them who learn and not me :D
DeleteIt's an award-winning art centre and I'm surprised that the fees is so affordable. If there's a branch near my place, I wish to enrol Chloe too but too bad, dun have :( Btw, how come no photos of the kids' first masterpiece? :p
ReplyDeleteYa...the fees is very reasonable for a 2 hour lessons. There are many good art center in KL. I believe u can find a good one for Chloe. Moreover, this center have a branch in Seri Kembangan.
Deletewow..it seem very good art school. At least, environment is good with such a good teacher too.
ReplyDeleteI like the environment. Very clean (maybe still new) and with good lighting.
Deletenice to send kids away for classes so that we can hv our own private time
ReplyDeleteyes...now both are big enough to attend extra classes, it is time for hubby and I to have our own relaxing time :D
DeleteThis art center sounds good. RM50 for 4 classes? Glad to know both of them enjoy their lessons.
ReplyDeleteI found an art center near my house but still haven't call them yet...ok better do it soon.
Yes...RM50 for 4 lessons. If Gwen enjoys colouring and drawing, enroll her. She will enjoy :D
Deleteyeah..sounds like a nice art center for kids. why did your son stop the previous art class? any particular reason?
ReplyDeleteHe stopped because he said he has got no friends and complained I went late to fetch him. The previous one is a big class with secondary + primary students attending at the same time. Teacher just go round the table to guide them.
Deletegot cawangan in PJ? rm50 is cheap.
ReplyDeleteOnly in Seri Kembangan. U can contact them via FB or their website. I've stated the link in the post.
