Dhal

My favourite roti bawang
Occasionally, we will have roti canai as our breakfast or supper. Most of the Friday night, after the kids' art class, they will request for roti canai for supper. I wonder what they did at the art class because when we picked them up, they are usually HUNGRY !

L : Dhal. R : Curry chicken
They started to eat roti canai with sugar. They connected roti canai with sugar. However, I'm glad after a few encouragement from me, they decided to give dhal a try. It is not spicy at all and in fact, I love to eat roti canai with dhal more than curry.

For the past few roti canai meals, the kids finally forget about the SUGAR and go for dhal instead. I'm glad on this changes as dhal would be a healthier choice over sugar !

    1. Not too often, then ok la....i don't encourage my kids to eat as supper too often too. Normally will suggest them to eat plain bread and milk. Sometimes, will allow them to choose their own supper as a treat.

  3. After art class or tuition, my girls too will be all worn out and hungry. That's why I must prepare supper for them. Same like my girls, they are eating roti canai with dhal now.

    1. because they made the roti canai upon order.. unlike most of the stalls and shops now, they prepare all the roti beforehand and only slightly heat them up when you order.. don't like that lah.. can't guarantee they are freshly made also..

    4. 1. Roti canai is very suitable for breakfast. #1: cheap. #2: quite filling after 2 pieces. At least can keep the tummy full until lunch time.

      2. I don't like those pre-made roti canai too. I always request them to make new one for me. Some uncle very friendly. Some show those 'u very ma fan' kind of face to me.

      3. I too started to eat with sugar. haha..... My kids are the same like you. #1:sugar, #2:sugar + dhal, #3:dhal. I hope they will try the curry one day.

      4. High 5! I like those potatoes pieces too! But I prefer roti bawang over kosong. When have the crave, i love to have roti planta too.......

  5. I prefer canai with curry unless the dhal is rich and thick. Most of the time, so diluted, not nice.
