Shark's Fin Soup, their favourites !

Shark's fins soup
Nine out of ten weddings we attended will sure served shark's fin soup. And of all dishes, both kids love the shark's fin soup more than anything else.

XJ : Hmm.....my favourites !
XJ can eat 1.5 bowls and she can forget about the rest of the dishes.

Slowly scooping up the delicious sharkfins
She enjoys eating on her own. Unlike at home, she will insist MIL or me to feed her. It is sometimes funny why she prefer to eats on her own when dinning out but not at home.

Too hot to handle, so have to use 2 bowls
As for YX, he enjoys this bowl of superior soup a lot too even he is a picky eater. He is afraid of hot soup, so will need to use 2 separate bowls.

YX : My favourites too.........
YX can take 2 bowls and just like XJ, he won't take the other dishes served. Maybe just a little piece of chicken / duck dish.

Bottoms up !
When using a spoon is just too slow, it is better to eat this way ! Sluurrrpppppss ...............

Tastes the same, minus the fins...or cook hot szechuan soup.

It is just these thick Chinese soups with the fins thrown in. Here, they may use fish maw, fish lips or sea cucumber instead...and unless it is a very expensive dinner, you can hardly see the tiny bits of fins swimming in the soup, mostly egg.

    1. Yeah, save the sharks!

Most dinners I attended recently did not serve shark fin soup anymore. They replaced it with chicken herbal soup :)

  2. After taking the soup, they didn't take other dishes. What you did to keep them occupy till your last dish?

YX is so grown up wearing checkered shirt. XJ's dress is so lovely.

    1. Yan, I'm sure you understand how restless kids will be at wedding functions. As for XJ, she dance to the music. Once a while, she will sit down admiring the bride. She can glued to her sit longer than her brother. As for YX, he will draw. After a few minutes, he will run to his cousin's place and play tab together. He definitely CAN'T glue his butt to the chair!

    1. When the soup was served, the shark's fin came in a separate plate for you to pour them in yourself to mix. But I'm also not sure if those were shark's fins. haha....

Try using 2 bowls to cool down the soup before drinking ?
