Visiting the ZOO

During last December long school holidays, YX had been requesting to visit the zoo. However, we just couldn't arrange a date to bring him there. Seeing us postponing his trip, one day when he came to the office, he took my post-it-note and wrote 'GO TO ZOO' and pasted it on 16 February 2013. He then told me, "Mama, we go to the zoo on this date ok ?"

February's appointment

Since it was during the CNY holidays, his wish was granted. We specially made a trip to the zoo just to make this boy happy.

We spent about 2 hours in the zoo and had a great time enjoying the animal's show.

 The Animal show lasted for about 30 minutes and was conducted in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
 

Hachiko - A very money minded cockatoo

This cockatoo was the star that day. Before it's performance, we were being told to make some donation on our own will. Just hold the money in our hand (standing beside the zoo keeper) and Hachiko will fly over to collect the donation with it's beak. The zoo keeper only needs a few volunteered.

As she only takes RM10

However, Hachiko only takes RM10 ! There was one lady holding up RM5 and no matter how many times Hachiko flew passed, it just doesn't want to land on the lady's hand. After a few tries, the lady took out a piece of RM10 and immediately, Hachiko flew over to her and collect the RM10. Everyone laughed !

After the Animal shows, the kids had an enjoyable time feeding some domestic animals. We bought 2 bundle of vegies from the zoo keeper.

YX being the timid one, finally had grown out of that fear and dare to feed the animals. I think he had grown up a lot !

This little sister is not afraid of anything comparing to her brother. She does not even need to warm up and can do what was told. She enjoyed feeding the animals and was asking for more vegies after she finished hers. 

December's appointment

The following week, when YX came to the office again, he quickly flipped through my calender and fixed another date to visit the zoo ! He chose December's school holidays. That shows how much he love visitng the zoo ! Well, we will have to keep our fingers crossed as no promised yet. Shall see how when the time comes.
