Taiwan (29 Apr - 6 May 2013) ~ Day 1

Oh dear....June is ending and I've not even posted about my Taiwan trip except for the summary I did over here.

We left for the airport at 7 am for our flights at 10am. It was XJ first flight and first overseas trip. She was excited !

First time in the plane

Cottony white clouds....ahh....so beautiful
It was a 4 hour plus journey and soon, we landed in Taoyuan Airport. Our local guide was already waiting for us at the arrival hall.

Yay ! Arrived in Taiwan
We loaded our luggage into this coach and the bus ferried us to the train station for us to experience the Taiwan's High Speed Rail to Taipei.

Before boarding the train, the local tour guide brought us to a nearby 7-eleven to grab some food stuffs and we are allowed to eat inside the train.

She insisted in holding the train tickets
The train was really spacious and clean. We were required to sit according to our seat number stated on the tickets.

Our train tickets from Taoyuan to Taipei
Once we arrived Taipei, our local tour guide treated us a ride on their MRT. He was going to bring us to a tourist attraction area and in order to avoid the bad traffic in Taipei City, he suggested for us to take the MRT instead. Since everyone agreed, we took a short walked to the MRT station.

Sitting on the priority seat
In a short 10 minutes ride, we arrived at the CKS Memorial Hall, to start off our 8 days tour. According to the tour guide, this is the place for peaceful demonstrations.

The building right at the back is CKS's memorial hall
It was very windy and this little girl enjoyed herself so much posing for photos !

During our trips in Taiwan, we had very early meals, lunch @ 11.30am and dinner @ 5.45 pm as the tour guide wanted to avoid the crowds. It was good that he did such planning. We doesn't mind to eat early as long as we can avoid waiting for too long for the food to be served in the restaurant.

Our 1st night dinner

Simple Chinese food
Food in Taiwan are a little bit bland compare to our local restaurant, but they still suit our taste buds. We were served a table full of dishes (about 7 - 8 dishes including soup) throughout our tour and it was such a waste as we never managed to finish them all.

After dinner, we had an early rest in the hotel. Day 2, next ............

    1. Surprisingly, not hungry at night coz all the meals were in big portions. We wasted a lot of food during the tours. *guilty*

And i love their 7-eleven. So modern and selling a lot of unique stuffs.
