Fresh Pistachio Nuts

If you did read my previous post, you will know where this fresh pistachio nuts came from. I was rather curious as how to eat it and wanted to know about the taste too. I always love pistachio nuts (I can eat a lot especially during CNY) but have never seen or eaten the fresh ones before.

Fresh Pistachio Nuts

First, peel off the soft skin wrapping around the nuts.

Removed the skin

Cracked open the pistachio nuts just like how we used to do to those well packed in the bottle type. You will get the flesh which had a light shade of red.

The flesh ready to be eaten

The flesh tasted quite 'lemak', fragrance and a little bit bitter. The more you munched on it, the more addicted you get. However, before we can enjoyed the nuts, we will have to peel it opened till our hands were tired. As they said "No pain, no gain" haha

XJ enjoying the nuts too !

  2. Ooh, what we usually see is just the inside without the soft pink skin. So you just ate it raw without roasting or toasting?
