Chicken pox during school holidays

Both XJ and YX were down with chicken pox during the long term school holiday, Nov 2013 and Dec 2013 respectively. The timing was so perfect as they doesn't need to miss any school. On the 1st day of school holiday, XJ had some pops on her body. I wasn't too sure if they were chicken pox as she doesn't have any fever at all. But on the 2nd day, more pops surfaced.

XJ's chicken pox on the 2nd day
She even had a few on her fingers which she complaint of pain instead of itchy.

While the rest were itchy, those on the fingers were painful
Preparing food for her was also a problem as there were so many things she can't eat. As Chinese usually have thousand and one taboos, some said can eat chicken, while some said cannot. At the end, I only cook plain porridge with added carrots and potatoes (no meat) for her. At times, I cooked mee suah and sometimes, she eat bread with honey.

Yeh Yeh laughed at her saying she turned moldy
MIL boiled some type of plants for her to bath. The plants were known to reduce itchiness and XJ enjoyed herself dipping in the hot bath.

Getting better each day
2 weeks after XJ recovered, YX caught the virus. However, YX pops doubled what XJ had and he was down with fever for 3 days. YX had a terrible time coping with it and was really moody the whole week.

YX's turn to catch the virus
Same with his sister, he too had a few on the fingers, but his was bigger in size. He can't even hold a pencil and he skipped drawing for almost 1 week.

He too had a few on the fingers
MIL too boiled the same plants for him to bath and YX said it was called "Children's SPA". As whole body was itchy, it was definitely comfortable to dip into the tub of warm water.

It was extremely large and he was not able to hold a pen / pencil for almost a week !
Both were on the same medications and glad, this ordeal was over. Good to get the chicken pox while still young and the best was during the long term school holidays !

Both are on the same medications. Alleryl Syrup for itchiness and Calamine Lotion for drying up the pox.
